Accessibility statement

We want GradeLens and this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text or higher contrast.

The standard we aim for

We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA for this website and the equivalent platform accessibility guidelines for the app — Apple's Human Interface Guidelines on iOS and Material Design accessibility guidance on Android.

This statement describes our current position honestly rather than claiming full conformance. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: most of it conforms, and we have not yet had it audited independently.

What we have done on this website

• Semantic HTML, so headings, lists and tables mean what they say to a screen reader
• A visible "skip to content" link for keyboard users
• A visible focus outline on every interactive element
• Text that reflows to 320px and scales to 200% without loss of content
• Colour contrast meeting AA in both light and dark appearance
• Automatic light and dark themes that follow your system setting
• Wide tables scroll inside their own container rather than breaking the page
• Reduced-motion preferences are respected
• No content that moves, flashes or auto-plays
• The site works without JavaScript

What we have done in GradeLens

• Support for the system text size, including the largest accessibility sizes
• Labels for screen readers on controls and icons
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — a learner's colour is always accompanied by their name, and an achievement level always by its number and label
• Touch targets sized to platform minimums
• Light and dark appearance following the system setting

Known limitations

We would rather list these than let you discover them:

• The app has not yet had a full independent accessibility audit.
• Some charts convey trends visually; we are adding text alternatives that state the same figures.
• Learner colours are user-chosen, so a guardian can pick two colours that are hard to tell apart. Names are always shown alongside, but we do not yet warn about a low-contrast choice.

If you hit a barrier, please tell us — a specific report is worth more than any audit. Email admin@ellermon.com with Accessibility in the subject line, and if you can, include the page or screen, the assistive technology you use, and what happened.

We aim to reply within 5 business days. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you what we are doing instead and give you another way to get what you need.
