About Ellermon Holdings

Ellermon Holdings (Pty) Ltd is a private software company registered in the Republic of South Africa. We are small, we build a short list of things carefully, and we answer our own email.

What we do

We make software for people tracking academic progress — parents and guardians first, students next. The common thread is timing. Institutions report results after the fact, in a format designed for record-keeping rather than for acting on. We build the view that sits in between: what the marks add up to now, and what they are heading towards while there is still room to change it.

Our first product is GradeLens, for South African schools. GradeLens Uni applies the same idea to university and college students, who own their own results.

How we work

• We charge for software, not for attention. There is no advertising in anything we build, and no third-party analytics or tracking. If a product needs to make money, it will do so by being worth paying for.
• We keep data in South Africa. Everything runs in AWS Africa (Cape Town). This is a deliberate choice, not an accident of defaults.
• We publish our compliance position. Our privacy policy, POPIA notice, PAIA manual, data inventory and child safety standards are all on this site, in full, rather than available on request.
• We say what a product cannot do. GradeLens projects a term mark from what you enter. It is an estimate, it is not the school's result, and we say so on the product page rather than in a footnote.
