See where the marks are heading
A South African report card arrives at the end of a term, which is exactly when it is too late to act on it. GradeLens closes that gap.

GradeLens weights it against the categories the subject actually uses, keeps a running projection of where the term mark will land, and places that projection on the same seven-level achievement scale the school reports against. A subject slipping from a level 5 to a level 4 becomes visible in week four, not in week ten.
What it does
A profile for each child
Add each learner once with their grade and school. Every child gets their own colour, so a household with three children in three grades stays readable.
Marks as they happen
Record an assessment against a subject and a weighted category. Schedule one with no mark yet and it holds its place on the calendar without affecting any average.
A projected term mark
GradeLens weights what has been captured, projects the term result, and places it on the seven-level achievement scale. Schools using a different scale can have it adjusted in settings.
One family calendar
Tests sit alongside holidays, outings, sport, meetings and admin — per child, or shared across the whole family.
Quiet, useful reminders
A nudge three days before something on the calendar, a flag when a test date has passed with no mark captured, and a reminder when a term closes. Every one can be switched off.
No advertising, ever
No advertising, no third-party analytics, no tracking SDKs. Nothing about your family is sold or shared for marketing. A commitment, not a current configuration.
Who it is for
GradeLens is for adults. Adults only. Guardians enter information about their own children; children do not hold accounts. A guardian creates the account and enters their children's information; the children themselves do not sign in, hold accounts, or interact with the app. Because that information concerns children, POPIA treats it as special personal information and we handle it accordingly — see our child safety standards.
GradeLens is an aid, not an authority. Everything it shows is calculated from what you enter. A projected term mark is an estimate based on your figures and your category weightings — it is not an official result and may differ from the mark the school awards. The school's report card is always the authoritative record.
Where your information lives
GradeLens runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS Africa (Cape Town). Your family's information is stored in South Africa and is not routinely transferred out of the country. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see or store your password. The full detail is in the privacy policy and the data inventory.

GradeLens Uni
The same idea, for students who own their own marks.
Early development · Not yet in previewUniversity works differently enough that it needs its own app rather than a setting in this one. A student owns their own results, marks arrive per module and per assessment against published weightings, and the number that matters is a weighted average across modules rather than a level on a national scale.
GradeLens Uni is being designed around three questions a student actually asks:
Where does this module stand?
Enter each result as it is released and see the running weighted average for the module, not just a list of percentages.
What do I need on the exam?
Set a target — a pass, a distinction, a bursary threshold — and see the mark still required on what remains to reach it.
How is the semester going?
A weighted view across every registered module, so a subject quietly dragging the average down is obvious well before results are published.
GradeLens Uni is in early development and is not yet in preview. It will carry the same commitments as GradeLens — no advertising, no third-party tracking, data hosted in South Africa, and deletion you control. Because students hold their own accounts and are typically adults, its data protection position will differ from GradeLens in one respect: no competent-person consent is involved.
